BAVARIA C38 -
THE NEXT WORLD PREMIERE OF BAVARIA YACHTS THIS YEAR
Perfect sailing characteristics, easy handling, maximum use of the interior space below deck and maximum comfort ...
... earlier perhaps a contradiction in yacht design, the new BAVARIA C38 now proves, it is possible without compromise. As with the larger BAVARIA C42, the BAVARIA V-bow and pronounced chin at the rear are two essential design features of the new BAVARIA C38.
“Chines increase stability under sails with a heel angle of 15 to 20 degrees. When designing the underwater hull, the dynamic effect of the Chines can also be used for faster water drainage on the hull. Modern sailboats often have a very wide stern and therefore a lot of volume in the back of the hull. If the sailboat leans in the wind and the heel increases, the hull is out of balance. The stern comes further out of the water and the bow is pushed further into the water. As a result, the boat gets trimmed and the pressure on the rudder increases. A V-bow with more volume compensates for this effect and the boat is easier to steer, ”explains Maurizio Cossutti, who as a yacht designer and his team are responsible for the hull shape.
Almost 80 square meters of sail area in mainsail (46 square meters) and a 109% genoa (35 square meters) ensure optimal propulsion on the wind. The standard self-tacking jib (30 square meters) guarantees easy handling at the cross. Code0 (70 sqm) and gennaker (130 sqm) complement the sporty sail plan of the BAVARIA C38.
Below deck, the BAVARIA V-Bow and the Chines at the stern also opened up completely new possibilities for the use of space for the BAVARIA YACHTS development team. “The V-bow also gives us more space below deck in the bow cabin. Thanks to the Chines we were able to place the large aft cabins a little further aft. Both benefit the salon, where seven people can now comfortably enjoy their dinner at the saloon table, ”explains Pascal Kuhn, who is responsible for the new development of sailing and motor yachts at BAVARIA YACHTS.
And there is real space below deck in the cabins. In the owner's cabin in the foredeck, the double bed measures a sensational 1.73 x 2 meters. The bunks in the aft cabins also have record-breaking dimensions of 1.50 x 2 meters for this boat size.
For the individual design of the BAVARIA C38, BAVARIA YACHTS offers a 2- or 3-cabin layout. In addition to the spacious bathroom with a separate shower amidships to starboard, another bathroom can be ordered for the owner in the bow cabin. The large, bright salon with L-galley, U-shaped sofa, lounge bench and card table is a real living space for the whole crew. Ready to sail, the BAVARIA C38 costs 153,391 euros including 19% VAT.
With the BAVARIA C38, BAVARIA YACHTS completes its C-Line with the larger models BAVARIA C42, C45, C50 and the flagship BAVARIA C57. The public will be able to view the BAVARIA C38 for the first time at boot 2021. Then the world premiere will have completed its first trial fittings at the end of November and production for the BAVARIA C38 in the shipyard in Giebelstadt will be in full swing.
